Verse 1

We were all born on this earth in search of something,

Now, we have it, so why all this pain,

In our thoughts, we all ebb and flow between past, present and future,

Have we forgotten the miracle of the present moment,

Verse 2

We're separated from life,

Every time we try to find lasting bliss in nostalgia,

And closure through the future,

And images of moments that came or just might come,

If you wish for it hard enough,

We must take action but know when to rest,

And embrace the people in our lives today, not tomorrow,

For some day, even the hourglass will disappear in time,

There's no time to waste,

The tsunami of time knows no rest,

We're barely getting by nestled in the nest of this world's regret,

Knowing we will become ashes in time,

Why not pick up the pen and vanquish all regrets,

Move forward nobly, live life beautifully,

Else, your world will tragically,

Fade away into fractured time and divided consciousness,

The jewels of time reveal themselves to those of mindfulness,

Let go of self-induced sadness, my friend,

We can re-compose the tempo of time,

Free ourselves from nostalgia's grip,

Sometimes, I feel like each day is a fading eternity,

I always sing 'bout discovering serenity in the present moment,

But, I'm always longing to go back a million steps, just so I can understand,

What my life means in a world that is governed by the ever-present, fading hourglass.
